Aifred uses AI to accomplish what was previously not possible with other methods: helping clinicians and patients make better choices when presented with a large number of treatments that are all similarly effective at the population level, but not at the individual patient and treatment level. 

Along with a network of domain experts in psychiatry, we are harnessing the power of AI to better understand patterns in patient data that can predict optimal treatment, without reliance on biomarker inputs.

Having started in major depression, Aifred plans to encompass a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, leveraging its treatment-agnostic AI platform. At its core, Aifred is focused on bringing better mental healthcare to all.

In 2021, Aifred placed #1 in North America and #2 in the World in the Global IBM Watson AI XPRIZE with its AI model for personalized treatment response prediction in major depression. In 2024 Aifred received Health Canada approval for its platform and has submitted for FDA approval in 2025.
