The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) operates within the research services field with a mission to advance canine health by supporting rigorous scientific studies and disseminating evidence-based health information to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, CHF pursues its mission across the lifetime of dogs, emphasizing physical, mental, and social well-being and adopting a One Health perspective. The organization relies on collaboration with researchers, veterinary practitioners, and the broader canine community, coordinating efforts to translate findings into practical guidance for owners and clinicians.

Its primary audience includes dog owners, veterinarians, and organizations focused on canine health, who benefit from access to research results and validated information aimed at reducing disease burden and improving quality of life. Within its sector, CHF positions itself as a catalyst for advancing veterinary science through partnerships and the dissemination of knowledge. A notable recent development is CHF's March 2026 announcement of a collaboration with the All Access program hosted by Andy Garcia to develop a documentary segment on canine health research.
