Akron Civic Theatre is a performing arts venue located in downtown Akron, Ohio. Housed in a historic, atmospheric theater dating back to 1929, it offers an intimate auditorium experience characterized by a star-lit ceiling and drifting clouds. The organization operates across multiple spaces—the historic main stage, Goodyear Theater, Knight Stage, and Wild Oscar's—and presents a varied slate that includes national touring acts, local performers, immersive culinary experiences, and community-led events. In fiscal year 2025, the venue hosted 393 events and welcomed nearly 170,000 guests.

Beyond its stages, the Civic aims to shape downtown Akron’s identity and reach audiences beyond its walls. It reported 12.6 million digital impressions in FY25, illustrating its broader visibility. A Knight Foundation study from 2023 estimated Civic patrons contributed more than $20 million in local spending, supporting nearby restaurants, hotels, and services. The organization launched a renovation and expansion project in 2018 to broaden its offerings, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize the historic venue.
