The AlaMed Workers' Compensation Preferred Provider Organization is the most comprehensive and economical workers’ compensation PPO network in Alabama, serving over 10,000 employers through more than 8,000 providers in Alabama and surrounding states. AlaMed is owned by the four largest Third Party Administrators in the state of Alabama: Employer's Claim Management, Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Millennium Risk Managers, and York Risk Services. Combined, the AlaMed payors and participants control more than 85% of the Alabama self-insured Workers' Compensation funds. Overseen by a Board of Directors, AlaMed is managed by Mike Miller, Executive Director, and Sarah Adkison, Director of Provider Relations. Mike and Sarah are responsible for the recruitment of new providers, and are dedicated to developing long-term, mutually-beneficial relationships with providers, payors, and employers. AlaMed contains the highest-quality healthcare providers who are committed to healing injured workers and returning them to work quickly and safely. Mike and Sarah market provide workers’ compensation services to payors and participants in order to generate more patient referrals for the provider, and assist with disputes between a payor and a provider. In addition to marketing and disputes, Sarah maintains and updates the AlaMed database—a list of all of the in-network providers that adjustors, bill payors, and other third parties can access to locate a provider—on a daily basis.
