In the past year alone, the Alameda Health Consortium has served over 260,00 patients with over 1.2 visits across four counties from all ages and many backgrounds.
 
Founded in 1972, the Alameda Health Consortium has been in existence for over thirty years, and was created in response to the clinic movement in California throughout the 1960s and 70s.  This dynamic movement centered on providing health care to low-income individuals, particularly people of color and immigrants.  The Alameda Health Consortium was first conceived as an organization that would advocate on behalf of community-based clinics and health care in Alameda County.

Today, the Alameda Health Consortium serves as the association for eight member community health centers that together serve more than 260,000 people in Alameda County.  Services provided by the Alameda Health Consortium include:  health policy and planning, advocacy, program development and implementation, training and technical assistance.  We maintain a strong focus on promoting policies that increase access to health care, link individuals and families with health insurance, and reduce racial and ethnic health disparities.

The Alameda Health Consortium represents eight federally-qualified community health centers:  Asian Health Services, Axis Community Health, La Clinica, LifeLong Medical Care, Native American Health Center, Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, Tri-City Health Center, and West Oakland Health Center.
