Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a national not-for-profit organization based in South Melbourne, Victoria, focused on protecting children and young people from violence and trauma in home, school, and community settings. It was founded in the wake of the Port Arthur massacre, when Alannah and Madeline Mikac and their mother were killed, and was established around 1997 by Walter Mikac AM and a group of volunteers to help children live safer, happier lives.
