ALAT by Wema operates as Nigeria’s first fully digital bank, delivering core banking services via a mobile app and a web platform under Wema Bank. Headquartered in Lagos, it sits within the financial services sector and offers a digital-first alternative to traditional banking for Nigerian customers. The platform has evolved to include features such as a virtual dollar card introduced in 2018 and a zero-balance account option launched in 2021 to support online financial management. ALAT serves individual customers and, through CoopHub, cooperative societies seeking digital financial solutions. A notable recent development is the May 2025 launch of Sounds of ALAT, a boot camp and workshop for young Nigerian creatives, illustrating the company's use of its digital platform to support broader community initiatives.
