Investment managers often excel at thinking creatively but fail to act on their ideas consistently.  Computers and models are the opposite – they aren’t creative – but they can enforce disciplined testing and implementation.  Our investment philosophy is to utilize the strengths of each.  

Our investment team generates ideas for identifying cheap or expensive stocks, drawing on academic work in accounting and behavioral finance as well our own internal research.  We use a quantitative process to test and implement these ideas, removing emotion from buy and sell decisions.  Blending fundamental research with systematic implementation is critical because even the most talented investors struggle to remove emotional and cognitive biases from their decisions.
