Alix, Yale & Ristas, LLP proudly traces its lineage to a firm established by William E. Simonds in 1865. A native of Canton, Connecticut, Mr. Simonds was a Civil War veteran who returned to Hartford after graduating from Yale Law School. During his distinguished career, he authored a number of books, represented Connecticut in the Fifty-First Congress and served as the Commissioner of Patents from 1891 to 1893.

Today, our firm’s clients include multinational corporations; major universities; privately held companies; and individual inventors, artists, authors and entrepreneurs. Alix, Yale & Ristas is large enough to provide a full range of services, yet small enough that a partner is directly involved with every client.
