The group started its first venture in 1963 selling gramophone records in a very small way. 1968 a tire showroom was set up and eventually has come a long way up to this date. The group went for its first diversification move in 1971 by entering the electronics and home appliances business with a wide range of electronics household items from global brands such as Sharp, Maxell, etc. Over time, a service centre was set up to provide efficient and effective after-sale service. Throughout the years, Almuftah Group opened its divisions for car hire, furniture industry, decoration in 1972. To meet the construction activities in the country, it opened its construction division in 1975. Fibreglass was added in 1976, Catering industry in 1977 by launching Sterling Fast Foods. In 1987, another milestone for Almuftah Group was the opening of the department store and high-quality jewellery showroom. The group with its over 6,000 strong multi-national force is on its growth path to achieve greater heights.
