Based in New York, the American Associates of the Royal Academy Trust (AARAT) supports the Royal Academy of Arts in London by increasing its visibility in the United States and providing financial backing from American audiences. For more than 25 years, the organization has pursued this dual aim and offers a program of exclusive events for members, including lectures, travel experiences, and private visits to art collections. It also runs an annual trip to London to engage with the Royal Academy directly. With a very small staff, AARAT functions as a US-based partner within the Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos industry, connecting American patrons and enthusiasts to the RA’s activities. The organization targets individuals interested in high-quality cultural experiences and access to RA programs, expanding support for the London institution while giving US audiences a curated way to engage with its work.
