The American Conservative Union (ACU) is the nation’s leading conservative grassroots organization, educating and mobilizing conservatives to fight for the restoration of our Republic. We do this through a variety of initiatives, including our annual flagship Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington DC, international CPACs on almost every continent, Battleground CPACs in states across America, policy advocacy across the full spectrum of issues, and support of candidates for public office. History: ACU was founded in 1964 by William F Buckley and other conservative luminaries. Today: ACU serves a unique role as a leader and organizer within the conservative movement: we combine ideas with action so everyday Americans learn what true conservatism is and what it takes to preserve it. We are educating, rallying, and mobilizing conservatives nationwide about key principles and policies, equipping them to become fully engaged, influential citizens.
