The American Flood Coalition is a non-profit, nonpartisan alliance that brings together leaders from government, the military, business, and local communities to address flooding and sea level rise. Based in Washington, D.C., it coordinates cross-sector efforts to develop and implement flood resilience solutions. The coalition focuses on advancing national-level policy and practical measures to support communities affected by flood risk. In November 2024, it launched the Flood Resilient Communities Cohort, a program that pairs five under-resourced communities in the Carolinas to identify and advance flood resilience projects using federal infrastructure funding. The coalition has a history of collaborating with local partners, including media outlets and elected officials, to support flood-related initiatives and resilience projects.
