Based in Paris in the Île-de-France region, the agency employs hundreds of professionals who work to protect the nation from cyber threats. It operates within the computer and network security field and pursues five core objectives: defending critical information systems and victims of large-scale cyberattacks; understanding cybersecurity developments and potential threats; sharing knowledge, guidance, and digital-security expertise; supporting national and international cybersecurity ecosystems; and regulating cybersecurity organizations, products, and services. Its primary customers are public-sector bodies and operators responsible for critical information infrastructure, along with the wider ecosystem involved in cyberspace security. Through its defense coordination and regulatory functions, ANSSI seeks to reduce cyber risk and strengthen the resilience of digital systems for both public and private sector actors.
