APIC Corporation is a semiconductor manufacturer based in Culver City, California, with more than twenty years of research and development in silicon-photonics. It has developed HIP-E technologies under contracts sponsored by DARPA, the Navy, and the Intelligence Communities. HIP-E is described as replacing copper traces in conventional circuit boards with chip-scale fiber optic links, aiming to deliver substantially higher energy efficiency and bandwidth to computing systems.

APIC envisions an optical mesh network that connects processors and memory to form a global coherent memory accessible to every processor, addressing the von Neumann bottleneck. It holds patents covering photonic integrated circuits, components, and scalable system architectures suitable for exa-scale computing. In 2018, APIC announced a laser/transmitter product for high-fidelity RF over fiber applications.
