ABEC is a small, statewide, non-partisan membership organization based in Phoenix that connects business and education leaders to help shape Arizona’s future. It focuses on education policy, with a mandate to educate, collaborate, and advocate for a high-quality K-12 public education system in the state. Its reach encompasses more than 60 districts and charter schools educating about two-thirds of the state's K-12 students, alongside public and private higher education institutions with a combined enrollment exceeding 500,000. The coalition comprises Arizona-based businesses and organizations representing thousands of employers and tens of thousands of residents, and funding comes from event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and membership dues. In 2023 ABEC participated with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Arizona School Administrators to host a School Safety and Security Summit, illustrating its role in convening stakeholders on education issues.
