Armed Forces Mutual (formerly AAFMAA) is the longest-standing nonprofit financial solutions provider exclusively serving the U.S. military community since 1879.

Founded by Army officers to ensure military families were protected after loss, our mission continues today — supporting active duty servicemembers, Veterans, military spouses, dependents, and survivors with financial solutions built specifically for military life.

As a Member-owned mutual aid association, we do not answer to shareholders. We serve our Members. Any surplus revenue is reinvested into enhanced benefits, services, and long-term stability for the military community.

We provide:

• Mortgage solutions tailored to military relocation and transition
• Investment management and trust services
• Survivor Assistance Services to help families navigate life insurance claims and government benefits

Because we serve only the military community — including Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, retired servicemembers, and Veterans — we understand the financial realities of deployments, PCS moves, transition to civilian life, retirement planning, and legacy protection.

In 2025, we rebranded from the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association (AAFMAA) to Armed Forces Mutual to better reflect our modern identity while honoring nearly 150 years of service and trust.
