ARTIC, officially the Apalach Regional Training Complex, is a defense and space manufacturing–focused training facility that offers a variety of training environments, including a jungle replica, a wooded area for simulations and live-fire testing, a riverine zone, and expansive blue and brown water training areas for small craft maneuvers and boat assaults. The site also houses multiple capability assets to support training, such as driver ranges, a physical techniques facility, an explosives range, a mock port of entry, simulated drug labs, and downed aircraft, enabling comprehensive training scenarios. ARTIC operates two Joint Operations Centers in Blountstown and Apalachicola, Florida, featuring facilities such as classrooms, berthing areas, mission prep spaces, and hangars to support sustained operations. The Blountstown site is situated at the Calhoun County Airport, while the Apalachicola facility provides quick access to rivers, coastal waters, and the Gulf of Mexico. The organization is based in St. Petersburg, Florida, and its training complex spans multiple terrain types in the Florida Panhandle to serve defense and related training needs.
