The Apalach Regional Training Complex (ARTiC) is training area that include a jungle with terrain that replicates locations such as Central America, South America, South East Asia and sub-Sahara Africa, a wooded training area that supports simulations, SRTA, live fire and ordinance testing, a riverine training area that offers thousands of acres with support for simulations, SRTA and live fire rounds, and a blue and brown water training area that has hundreds of miles of water and river access ideal for small craft maneuvers, and boat assaults. ARTiC is situated between Tallahassee and Panama City, FL. It hosts the capability for two Joint Operations Centers (JOCs), one in Blountstown and the other in Apalachicola. Located on the Calhoun County Airport, the Blountstown JOC offers modern facilities such as classrooms, open bays, mission prep areas, administrative and logistical support structure, berthing and a 10,000 square foot hangar for sustained airborne operations. Located in the Florida Panhandle near Panama City and Eglin AFB on the Apalachicola Regional Airport, the Apalachicola JOC offers hangars, multipurpose rooms, open bay berthing and quick access to rivers, coastal water and the Gulf of Mexico. Other assets include a sprawling complex of driver training ranges, a physical techniques facility, explosives range, fully functional mock port of entry, simulated drug labs, downed aircraft, and numerous other structures which support the entire training effort.
