Artist & Craftsman Supply is an employee-owned retailer of art and craft materials. Founded in 1985 in Yarmouth, Maine, it now operates a network of stores across the United States and is based in Portland, Maine. The stores offer a broad range of arts and crafts supplies, typically priced about 15-20% below the manufacturer’s suggested list price. Educators and students qualify for a 10% discount, and the company can accommodate special orders when an item isn’t in stock, with guidance provided by staff who are artists.

The company operates within the retail art supplies industry, serving professional artists, students, educators, and hobbyists. Recent reports from early 2026 indicate Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and the closure of several offices and stores, including locations in Philadelphia and Portland, Oregon.
