Ascension Credit Union is a not-for-profit, full-service financial institution, offering a wide range of services to members. Structured as a financial cooperative, the credit union is owned and operated entirely by its membership, or by the people that have accounts with us. Ascension Credit Union is the ONLY Credit Union that is home based in Ascension Parish, with it's focus on serving residents who reside in Ascension Parish. 

Ascension Credit Union was chartered on March 12, 1974 as Ascension School Employees Credit Union to serve employees of the Ascension Parish School Board and served members from a closet in East Ascension High School. Due to dedicated and supporting members, in February 1977, we opened our doors to a little office on the second floor of the Bank of Gonzales. In August of 1986, with 3.4 million in assets, Ascension Credit Union moved to 2430 S. Burnside Ave. With a new drive-thru window, quick personalized service, and convenient hours we thrived. On November 17, 1992, we built our building to accommodate future growth, and that is our main office.

Today, just like the parish population, Ascension Credit Union is growing and we are determined to uphold our original ideals. Our approach reaches beyond providing convenient products, excellent services, and individualized solutions. We empower our staff by encouraging creative thinking to create a spirit of pride, so we can be innovative when assisting our members.
