Asiacell Communications PJSC is a telecommunications company based on Salim Street in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. It operates Iraq’s leading mobile network, serving about 19.1 million subscribers and delivering nationwide coverage across all 18 governorates, including Baghdad, reaching roughly 97% of the population. The company holds one of Iraq’s three 15-year nationwide licenses issued in 2007 by the Communications and Media Commission and is supported by its founder, Mr. Faruk M. Rasool, along with strategic partner Qatar Telecom (Ooredoo); international services are routed through the Ministry of Communications gateway. Asiacell has received notable industry recognition in Iraq, being named the leading brand in 2012 by Altai and recognized as the best GSM operator by the Ministry of Communications in 2011.
