Auditory Verbal UK is a national charity that supports early intervention for babies and young children with permanent hearing loss, helping them listen and speak. Using Auditory Verbal Therapy, listening and spoken language specialists coach parents to enable children to develop listening, speaking, and broader social skills needed for school and everyday life. The organization also provides internationally accredited training for professionals and collaborates with partner groups to raise expectations for deaf children. Based in Chesterton, Oxfordshire, AVUK operates centres in London and Oxfordshire and offers online services to reach families across the UK. It works with health and education professionals to increase awareness, access, and uptake of Auditory Verbal therapy while delivering services directly to families. In 2025, AVUK participated in the launch of the Speech, Language and Communication Alliance in Parliament.
