Founded and based in Birmingham since 1942, BMRS has a tradition of excellence instilled by its founders Frank Bainbridge (1895-1980) and Walter L. Mims (1910-1993). For the past half-century, Bainbridge’s son Frank M. Bainbridge has been a chief steward of that reputation while navigating changing times and issues, and always leading by example.

From its earliest days, the firm has played a central and integral role in the Birmingham Bar Association, with four partners having served as president. Though BMRS has remained small in numbers by design, its reputation has grown exponentially through the years.
