Durante 120 años, venimos acumulando invaluable experiencia y hemos pasado por diferentes procesos de transformación y evolución, convirtiéndonos en un banco referente en la industria, caracterizado por su solidez, solvencia y liderazgo. 

Nuestra Historia

1905: Fue fundado por Simón Patiño. Nuestra primera sede fue establecida en Oruro, que en esa época era el centro minero más importante del país.

1973: Un grupo de empresarios a la cabeza de Javier Zuazo, compró acciones del Banco, con lo que logramos alcanzar un crecimiento exponencial que nos permitió afrontar la crisis de los 80´s.

1988: Empezamos a expandir nuestras operaciones a nivel nacional, sumando 29 agencias y 8 oficinas centrales, con más de 700 funcionarios. Para el 2000 ya prestábamos servicios y ofrecíamos productos a la altura de cualquier banco internacional.

2006: Compramos el paquete accionario mayoritario del Banco Santa Cruz, iniciando el proceso de fusión más importante de los últimos tiempos dentro el sistema financiero boliviano.

2016: Nos adjudicamos la cartera de clientes y de depósitos de una de las mutuales más importantes del país: la Mutual La Paz. El mismo año se dió la fusión con el Ex Banco Los Andes ProCredit, lo que nos permitió ingresar al sector de las mipymes.

2023: Nos adjudicamos parcialmente la cartera de clientes y depósitos del Ex Banco Fassil.

HOY, somos el banco privado más grande del país con más de un millón de clientes activos.
