Over the past 36 years, the bank has continued to provide highly personalized banking services to its customers, while expanding into new markets to take advantage of growth opportunities in fast-growing communities contiguous to the bank’s original footprint. Bank of Walterboro officially changed its name to Bank of the Lowcountry in 2019 to broaden the bank's appeal to surrounding communities. The original mission of creating a bank to provide financial services to its local community has not changed. The bank's geographic footprint will continue to expand to provide opportunities for the company to grow and be successful while focusing on the original mission of being a financial service provider to the local community.
