BGIA is a study-away program in New York City for college students and recent graduates pursuing international affairs. It runs fall and spring semesters and offers up to four seminar-style courses, including a required Core Seminar, with coursework that emphasizes discussion, research, and writing. The program guarantees a professional internship by drawing on a network of more than 100 partner organizations, with staff helping students identify placements that fit their interests and goals and guiding them through resume and cover-letter development. Once internships begin, each student is assigned a staff mentor to support their experience throughout the program. In addition to academics, BGIA provides opportunities to experience life in New York City through arranged cultural activities and performances. Housing is offered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, featuring 24/7 security, lounges and an outdoor courtyard, along with professional cleaning and convenient access to transit, dining, and local amenities. The program is based in New York City and operates with a small team.
