BGIA is an open-major study away program in NYC for college students and recent graduates. At BGIA, students jumpstart their careers in International Affairs with advanced courses taught by industry experts, and a guaranteed internship with our 100+ partners. We offer fall and spring semesters. Generous financial aid is available!

Internships:
Enrolled students work closely with BGIA staff to identify internships that match their individual interests and goals. They are guided through the cover letter and resume writing process and, most importantly, students are able to take advantage of BGIA’s extensive network in New York City to secure a part to full time professional internship.  Once the internship begins, each student is assigned a staff mentor at their internship to support them throughout the program. Students, BGIA staff and internship mentors work closely together to ensure a successful and productive internship experience. 

Academics:
BGIA offers international affairs courses in an intimate teaching environment. Participants take up to four seminar-style courses, including the required Core Seminar. The courses, covering a breadth of international fields, are based on student discussion, research, and writing. They meet in the late afternoon and early evening to accommodate daytime internships. 

Life in NYC:
BGIA arranges evenings at the Metropolitan Opera and American Ballet Theatre, Broadway and off-Broadway shows, jazz and indie concerts, comedy, and sports at wide-ranging venues.
