Bard Optical operates as a family-oriented eye care provider delivering comprehensive eye health evaluations and treatments across multiple locations in Central and Southern Illinois. While selling glasses and contact lenses is part of their offering, the primary focus is establishing long-term relationships with patients, addressing eye health from ages 2 to 102 and providing individualized care whether it is a child’s initial exam or a senior returning after surgery. Positioned within the wellness and fitness services sector, Bard Optical emphasizes preventive eye care and patient education as core value, aiming to support ongoing eye health rather than just dispensing eyewear. The company is based in Peoria, Illinois, and has a history dating back 75 years, having grown from a single office founded by Dr. A. Arthur Bard to a multi-location regional presence under the leadership that expanded it into a noted, woman-owned eyecare provider. A notable recent development includes the closure of a Center, Texas location and consolidation of operations into a nearby site, reflecting ongoing adjustments in its geographic footprint.
