Bark Frameworks is an art framing and design studio based in Long Island City, New York, founded in 1969. It emphasizes innovative design while upholding preservation framing standards, with a focus on framing Impressionist, modern, and contemporary art and on designing custom mirror frames. All Bark frames are designed and built in a 27,000-square-foot facility that houses a showroom, design and preservation studios, a wood shop, a metal shop, and a gilding studio. The company began in Jared Bark’s SoHo loft and evolved from framing contemporary works to a broader range that includes Western art from Impressionism onward, as well as photographs, textiles, and Asian works like scrolls. In January 2017 Bark Frameworks became 100% employee-owned, a structure intended to sustain craftsmanship and client service. In December 2021 the company appointed Susan Greenberg Fisher as CEO, bringing experience from major cultural institutions.
