Bay Area Legal Aid is a nonprofit civil legal aid organization providing free legal assistance to low-income residents across the seven Bay Area counties. Through a network of regional offices, mobile clinics, and a Legal Advice Line, it helps clients protect livelihoods, health, and families, addressing issues such as domestic violence, economic instability, consumer rights, healthcare access, and housing stability.

Its clients include the working poor, families with children, foster youth, seniors, immigrants, veterans, and people with disabilities. Based in Oakland, California, Bay Area Legal Aid is the largest civil legal aid provider serving Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara. In 2024, the organization formed a partnership with the Texas Advocacy Project to support joint advocacy and litigation efforts.
