Bay Capital Investment Partners specifically addresses the capital needs of smaller U.S. companies by providing senior debt, subordinated debt, mezzanine capital and equity capital to facilitate acquisitions, management buyouts and recapitalizations and to provide growth capital.  Smaller companies generally require more financing flexibility than many banks can provide, and such companies often cannot access larger private equity funds or other financing sources. 

Each Bay Capital fund is licensed as a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Bay Capital's second SBIC fund closed in June 2013 with $150 million of committed capital.  Bay Capital seeks to invest $2 million to $10 million in historically profitable companies with strong management and a well-defined growth strategy.

Based in Providence, RI, Bay Capital invests primarily in businesses located east of the Mississippi River.
