Baystate Pool Supplies is a fourth-generation, family-owned wholesale distributor of swimming pool and spa products. Our Founder, Charles Arakelian, came to this country from Armenia where he settled in Philadelphia and eventually moved to Boston. There he learned to manufacture bleach for laundries and started United Bleach Manufacturing. In time his two sons, Arthur and Paul, came into the business. In 1965, while working for his father’s company, Paul saw an opportunity in the flourishing pool and spa industry. Later that year, he formed Baystate Chemical and Pool Supplies. Arthur joined him shortly thereafter, leaving his job as a school teacher. Over time John, David, and their children, joined Baystate Pool Supplies. Baystate eventually consolidated the business into wholesale distribution and today Baystate proudly operates fourteen distribution outlets from New Hampshire to North Carolina. Today the core values set forth by John and David’s father through hard work and devoted customer service resonates throughout each of our 250 employees.
