BayWa r.e. Wind, LLC is the U.S. subsidiary of Germany global conglomerate BayWa AG and responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind farms in North America. Once a project has been placed into service, we either divest or partner in the operating assets. Large international investors such as Goldman Sachs or Macquarie as well as domestic utilities such as ConEd or NorthWestern Energy have acquired our projects. In addition, we provide comprehensive Asset Management services for projects.

The company was founded in 2001 by Florian Zerhusen in San Diego with WKN backing the business plan for the first ten years before BayWa AG, through its renewable subsidiary BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH, bought out WKN in August 2011. Since then, we are part of a leading global renewable energy developer, service supplier, wholesaler and energy solutions provider.
