The BC SPCA is a non-profit charitable organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia, established more than 125 years ago to protect vulnerable animals and mobilize communities around animal welfare. It provides a broad range of services and programs to assist animals in distress, helping more than 45,000 animals each year. The BC SPCA was created under the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and is the sole animal welfare organization in British Columbia authorized to enforce cruelty laws and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel.
