Get in the Pond! We're an artisanal publisher mentoring independent authors to write, publish, and promote books, which they then fully own. Since 1998, we've published over 600 trade and non-trade books in nearly every genre, and our books consistently win local, regional, and national awards. (Although our authors own them, we tend to say "our books" because we're so proud of them!) Our criteria for accepting manuscripts is generous but discerning. Once we take on a project, it's customized to meet the needs of the book and the goals of the author. Each book is uniquely produced, professionally edited, and lovingly designed by real human beings who are passionate about the craft. We don't use design templates. We publish e-books in all formats, and we print hardcover and softcover books in any quantity, length, or trim size. The majority of our books are printed in the U.S.A., with a few exceptions that are printed in Canada. Whether micro-niche or mass trade, we work with our authors to determine sensible distribution goals, and then meet them. Word-of-mouth advertising from satisfied authors has been our main source of business since day one. We love books, we love authors, and we love what we do!
