The Berrien County Historical Association is a small nonprofit dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Berrien County, Michigan. It operates the History Center at Courthouse Square in Berrien Springs, a 1.6-acre complex that includes the 1830 Murdoch Log Cabin, the oldest two-story log cabin in the state, and the 1839 County Courthouse, the oldest of its kind in Michigan, with three additional properties on the grounds that, as a unit, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The organization serves audiences through programs, events, and exhibits that tell the stories of the community's past. Its focus is on residents and visitors with an interest in local history, functioning within the museums, historical sites, and related sectors. A recent development in 2023 was the appointment of Kathy Cyr as executive director, following the retirement of Porter Snyder.
