BikeMN is a Minnesota-based nonprofit dedicated to making walking and cycling a regular mode of mobility across the state. As a 501(c)(3) organization, it seeks to lead and coordinate education, advocacy, and community efforts to ensure walking and biking are accessible, safe, and enjoyable for people of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Its work is organized around three program areas: Education to promote safer behavior among road and trail users; Advocacy to advance policies, programs, and infrastructure that support walk- and bike-friendly communities; and Community Engagement to involve communities, businesses, and higher education institutions in creating welcoming environments for active travel. Through these programs, BikeMN partners with local governments, organizations, and residents to reduce barriers and expand opportunities for active mobility.

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the organization employs a modest staff and serves communities statewide. A recent development is the expansion of its Minnesota Cargo Bike Library to Rochester and Duluth, following a year of success in Minneapolis, reflecting its efforts to broaden access to cargo bikes for local projects and communities.
