Big Bend Hospice is a nonprofit end-of-life care provider based in Tallahassee, serving the Florida Big Bend region. Founded in 1983 as the first nonprofit hospice in Tallahassee, it serves eight counties in the area with personalized care focused on dignity and respect for patients and their families. The organization is CHAP-accredited and relies on a dedicated team that includes skilled nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, music therapists, and volunteers to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Care is offered across settings, including in patients' homes, integrated with assisted living and nursing facilities, and in inpatient units such as the Margaret Z. Dozier House and the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care. Beyond direct care, Big Bend Hospice engages in community education, patient-rights advocacy, and expanding access to resources in the Big Bend. Recent activities include participating in the Caregiving with Heart Conference in 2026 and partnering with Madison County Memorial Hospital to host a caregiver awareness walk in November 2025.
