BIG RED SUN is a full service design studio specializing in sustainable, architectural landscapes for residential and commercial spaces. Well known for its modern and timeless landscape magic, it’s pairing of botanical, earth and marine elements in vertical, standing and hanging gardens, BIG RED SUN offers many settings for it’s clientele.

Created by owner and designer Selena Souders in 1994, BIG RED SUN is located in Austin, Texas and Venice, California. BIG RED SUN offers landscape and garden design services; interior and exterior botanical art commissions; wedding/special event floral & plant décor, a boutique nursery and garden shop; and venues available for special events.

Renowned for it’s use of restorative, native, and naturalized plantings combined with innovative vessels and hardscapes, BIG RED SUN has been featured in Metropolitan Home, HOUSE & GARDEN, WIRED, Garden Design Magazine, Texas Monthly, Austin’s hip Hotel San Jose, Rose Café, Fred Segal Santa Monica to name a few.  Also, BIG RED SUN has worked with top celebrities such as singer Shawn Colvin, Martha Stewart, Owen Wilson, Patricia Arquette, Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt and high profile events such as NRDC’S Annual Fundraiser, Texas Film Hall of Fame Fundraiser, Avatar Movie Earth Day Premiere Event and many more.
