Bikes for the World is a nonprofit organization based in Rockville, Maryland. It coordinates the collection of unwanted bicycles, parts, tools, and accessories from individuals, businesses, and the public in the United States and arranges low-cost delivery to community development programs serving people in developing countries. The program promotes the reuse of surplus bicycles to improve mobility for recipients and, in turn, offers donors chances to engage in service and environmental stewardship. As a facilitator between donors, service organizations, and overseas programs, the group supports community service efforts that benefit disadvantaged groups and the surrounding environment. In 2022, it established a partnership with the Calvert Marine Museum to collaborate on bicycle collection and distribution.
