BIOSERV operates as a regional network of medium-sized organic recyclers anchored across Germany, based in Nuremberg, Bavaria. The company handles organic waste from trade, food production, industry and gastronomy, processing materials with or without packaging as well as edible fats. It manages the full logistics cycle, including containers and collection systems, with its transport and utilization chain approved for K3 material under Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009.

Digestate from its biogas plants is used as a natural fertilizer. In addition to operating biogas plants, BIOSERV provides fertilizer production from biogas processes, conducts research and development in biomass conversion technologies, and builds or repowers biogas facilities.
