Birmingham Children's Theatre (BCT) is a Birmingham, Alabama-based professional performing arts company that produces works for young audiences. Founded in 1947 by the Junior League of Birmingham, it stands among the nation's oldest and largest organizations serving this field. It serves as the resident professional theater of the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex and runs three venues: the 150-seat Dominick Studio Theatre, the 250-seat Wee Folks Theatre for ages 3-6, and the 950-seat Mainstage Theatre for ages 6 and up. The organization presents an 11-production season at the BJCC and also tours with four productions visiting more than 40 Alabama counties and 17 states each year. Over its six-decade history, it has performed to over 12 million children and serves more than 175,000 young people in a typical season. In 2023, Birmingham Children's Theatre launched The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
