Black Warrior Riverkeeper is a citizen-based environmental nonprofit based in Birmingham, Alabama, focused on protecting and restoring the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. Through river patrols, public education, and actions to hold polluters accountable, it aims to preserve clean water for public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat within the Black Warrior River watershed.

The Black Warrior River watershed spans about 6,276 square miles, drains parts of 17 Alabama counties, and runs roughly 300 miles from headwaters to its downstream reach, serving more than a million residents. The headwaters include the Sipsey, Mulberry, and Locust Forks, and the river helps define regional borders near Birmingham and Tuscaloosa before flowing toward the Tombigbee River. In May 2025, Black Warrior Riverkeeper was recognized with the Lou Wooster Public Health Hero Award.
