Blindspot Collective develops transformative theatre that amplifies marginalized voices, illuminates untold stories, bridges disparate experiences, and energizes vulnerable communities. Since its founding in 2017, the company has produced radically inclusive programming at the intersection of advocacy, education, and entertainment that cultivates and celebrates new work, emerging artists, diverse audiences, and fresh ideas. We received the Audience Favorite Award in 2018 at the San Diego Fringe Festival; were the first theatre company awarded an arts residency at the San Diego Airport in 2019; selected as “Theatre of the Year” in 2020 by the San Diego Union-Tribune; and are the current resident theatre company at La Jolla Playhouse. The company has received acclaim for its original work developed in partnership with historically excluded communities, including refugees and immigrants, BIPOC youth, veterans and military families, individuals with disabilities, and transgender teens.
