Bluff View Art District is a historic Chattanooga neighborhood that blends dining, a coffee house, an art gallery, a historic bed-and-breakfast, and landscaped spaces. It spans about 1.5 city blocks atop stone cliffs offering views of the Tennessee River and downtown Chattanooga, a location once nicknamed 'cliff dwellers' and recognized as Chattanooga's first art district. The district emphasizes the visual, horticultural, and culinary arts through its galleries, gardens, and eateries. The River Gallery features nationally recognized artists and hosts weekly classes or demonstrations, while Master Gardeners maintain the landscape and the sculpture garden noted by the Smithsonian in its Archive of American Gardens. Culinary activity includes an artisan bakery, coffee roasting, fresh pastas, and the creation of pastries and chocolates in kitchens across the district for guests, with visitors able to observe artists at work through windows and studios.
