BMK backfill products have been setting, straightening, and repairing posts, signs, fences and utility and telecommunication poles for more than 30 years. BMK was founded in 1988 as a manufacturer of synthetic bowling pins. However, the company’s direction changed significantly — and permanently — later that year, thanks to a casual conversation between a BMK salesman and his neighbor who worked for Texas Utilities (now TXU Energy). It turned out that the utility industry was exploring new methods for pole setting and pole repair, and the question of using polyurethanes was raised, possibly for the first time. The BMK research and development team went to work, and before long, the company launched its first three polyurethane-based products for the utility market: Polecrete® Stabilizer, Polecrete® RSP™ and Padcrete™. The new products met with immediate success, due to the same key benefits our customers still enjoy today, including consistent, reliable quality (proven in failure-free field tests) and convenient, easy-to-use, time-saving kits. Over the years we have continued to improve on our original products, while also adding new ones, allowing us to expand into new markets. Postloc and RSP were quickly adopted by the transportation industry for sign installation and road repair, while other BMK products have proven useful in other applications, including fencing, mining and more. Today, all BMK products are still proudly made in the USA and are available throughout the country by our nationwide network of distributors, as well as internationally.
