B'nai Jeshurun is a long-standing Jewish congregation based in New York City, New York, founded in 1825. It serves around 1,800 member households and aims to provide diverse, meaningful paths to Jewish religious life through a program centered on spiritual transformation. In the post-pandemic era, the synagogue combines in-person and online prayer, study, and programming to reach seekers wherever they are. The community pursues an accessible, inclusive, and equitable staff culture and has engaged in efforts to understand and address racism within American society, the Jewish community, and its own practices. A recent development is a November 2024 interfaith collaboration with the New York Jewish Agenda and other partners for a post-election gathering on faith and democracy on the Upper West Side.
