The Boston Athletic Association is a nonprofit organization based in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1887 to promote well-being through sport, with a focus on running. It operates in the wellness and fitness services space by organizing athletic events rather than offering direct consumer products, led by a year‑round calendar that includes the B.A.A. Half Marathon and the Boston Mayor's Cup alongside its signature Boston Marathon. Its activities serve runners and the broader athletics community by providing event management, competition frameworks, and opportunities to participate in organized races.

In July 2025, the organization announced the appointment of Judy Pineda Neufeld as Chief Community Officer. The Boston Marathon remains its flagship event within a year‑round program of races and activities.
