The Boulder Creek Fire Protection District is a small, volunteer-driven public safety organization serving the communities of Boulder Creek and Brookdale in California. It provides initial response to fire, medical, and rescue emergencies while prioritizing training for operations at the urban-wilderness interface, including high-angle rope rescues, vehicle extrication, and wildland firefighting. The district participates in seasonal statewide fire strike teams and offers mutual aid to nearby communities and CalFire’s wilderness zones. Most call volume comes from medical incidents and vehicle accidents, reflecting its primary response role. Based in Boulder Creek, the district maintains ongoing training programs and hosts opportunities such as a local high school internship, supported through its operations and partnerships.
