Since 1954, the Boys & Girls Clubs in Oxnard and Port Hueneme have been trusted spaces where young people learn, grow, and thrive. BGCOP now serves 5,500 kids and teens across 21 locations as a vital community institution. Generations of youth and families have found connection, opportunity, and hope through the Club—a tradition that continues. From the historic Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center to the Martin V. Smith and Port Hueneme Clubhouses, each site reflects a deep commitment to building a better future. BGCOP has also expanded through satellite clubs with community partners and by delivering programs directly to campuses in the Rio, Ocean View, and Hueneme school districts. In a groundbreaking initiative, BGCOP established the first Boys & Girls Club within a secure detention facility, in partnership with the Ventura County Probation Agency. This innovative program extends the Club’s mission to reach youth in the justice system, providing mentorship, support, and hope where it’s needed most. One of BGCOP’s proudest accomplishments is its lasting impact: Club youth are more likely to stay on track in school, graduate, and pursue their goals with confidence. The Club experience supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—through caring mentors, enriching programs, and a safe, supportive environment.
